Devra Freelander makes sculpture at the intersection of geology and technology. She received her MFA in Sculpture from Rhode Island School of Design, and her BA in Studio Art from Oberlin College. Freelander has exhibited at SPRING/BREAK Art Show, the New York Design Center, the RISD Museum, Zoya Tommy Contemporary, the White Gallery, and the Fjuk Arts Centre. She is the co-founder of MATERIAL GIRLS, a recipient of the 2016 St. Botolph Club Foundation Emerging Artist Award, and a participant in the 2016-2017 Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Workspace Residency. In 2017 she will participate in the Socrates Sculpture Park Emerging Artist Fellowship, and will attend the 2017 Arctic Circle Residency.
